Detroit — The rumor mill just got fired up to maximum level.
And it will be churning for quite some time.
Steve Yzerman, the legendary Hall of Fame Red Wing, is stepping down as general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning, a staggering development with training camps set to open around the NHL.
Yzerman will make the move official at a 4 p.m. press conference Tuesday in Tampa. His assistant, Julien BriseBois, will move up to assume Yzerman’s position.
With one year left on his contract, Yzerman will reportedly stay on in an advisory role.
