DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today recalled defenseman Filip Hronek from the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
Hronek has totaled 23 games with the Red Wings this season after making his NHL debut on Oct. 4 vs. Columbus and has notched 10 points (3-7-10) in 18:25 average time on ice. The 21-year-old blueliner picked up his first two NHL points in back-to-back games this October, logging his first assist on Oct. 11 vs. Toronto before his first NHL goal on Oct. 13 at Boston. In 28 games with the Griffins, Hronek has posted the fifth-best points-per-game average of any AHL defensemen (minimum 20 games played), with 23 points (7-16-23) in 28 games, including a two-goal performance on Feb.
