DETROIT - Jimmy Howard made 24 saves in his first NHL game in almost three months and Tomas Tatar scored twice for the Detroit Red Wings in a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks Friday at Joe Louis Arena.
Howard had been sidelined since Dec. 20, when he sprained his right MCL in Tampa. The victory was his first since beating Buffalo 2-1 Nov. 23.
Tatar also had an assist as his line picked up eight points.
Gustav Nyquist chipped in three assists and Henrik Zetterberg had two while the Red Wings also got goals from Xavier Ouellet and Andreas Athanasiou.
