TRAVERSE CITY - The Detroit Red Wings held the only scrimmage of their annual development camp Sunday but one notable name did not take part.
Michael Rasmussen, the team's first-round pick (ninth overall) in last last month's NHL draft, sat out as a precaution.
The 6-foot-6 center fractured his wrist in late February, ending his season for the WHL's Tri-City Americans, and although he reported no problems after the first two days at the development camp, Rasmussen did not want to push it too much.
