GRAND RAPIDS - Tomas Nosek is big on enjoying the moment.
He’s relishing the Grand Rapids Griffins' run in the Calder Cup finals, buoyed by the confidence-booster he got during an 11-game stint with the Detroit Red Wings. Autumn bodes well for more fun.
As the Griffins headed into Tuesday’s Game 6 against the Syracuse Crunch at Van Andel Arena with a 3-2 series lead, Nosek ranked first on the team with 10 goals and second in scoring with 19 points. This after a regular season when Nosek, 24, reached a career-high 41 points in 56 games with the NHL (he hit 15 goals two straight seasons, but it took him 70 games to get there in 2015-16).
