from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
After several years of scraping the NHL's basement, the Buffalo Sabres are reaping the rewards of high draft picks and some shrewd trades.
The Sabres (15-6-2) have won eight in a row and are third overall in the league heading into tonight's game against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena (7 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit).
It will be the Red Wings' first look at defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, the top pick in the 2018 draft. Dahlin is tied for third in the NHL in points among rookies (two goals, 10 assists in 23 games), tops among defensemen.
