After making a trade overnight, the Detroit Red Wings were quiet in the hours leading up to the trade deadline.

They wound up having made two moves, trading Gustav Nyquist to the San Jose Sharks and defenseman Nick Jensen to the Washington Capitals. There was interest in a couple other veterans, but not enough to entice moving them before Monday’s 3 p.m. deadline.

Nyquist was flipped overnight for a 2019 second-round pick and a conditional 2020 third-round pick; that followed Friday’s trade of Nick Jensen that yielded a 2020 second-round pick and defense prospect Madison Bowey.
