Detroit — All these young kids on the Red Wings’ roster continue to offer hope.
And isn’t the exhibition season largely about that?
Goals from Filip Zadina (power play), Dennis Cholowski, Vili Saariarvi and Evgeny Svechnikov (in overtime) powered the Wings to a 4-3 exhibition victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
Saarijarvi — assisted by Michael Rasmussen and Zadina — gave the Red Wings a 3-1 lead just 39 seconds into the third period but the Bruins rallied with a pair of goals, tying the score on Axel Andersson's power-play goal at 14:47.
