Rising Red Wings have 'a lot better' hockey in them

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings are a game above .500, on points percentage, for the first time since Jan. 5.

"Somebody asked me, 'You're one game above .500 now for the first time this year, what does it mean?' " coach Jeff Blashill said. "To me, it means we're one game above .500 and we got to go play Washington and find a way to win. We got to keep getting better here, keep finding ways to win and keep putting points on the board."

The Red Wings (10-9-2) are 9-2 in their past 11. The began a tough four-game stretch Wednesday with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins.
