DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings spent some time near the end of Wednesday's practice working on one-timers.
Scoring was an issue last season, when the Red Wings ranked 28th in the NHL at 2.59 goals per game. They have scored only two goals in each of their first three games this season.
Coach Jeff Blashill hopes a quicker release will help.
"Our job as coaches is to build habits, especially with a game that's as fluid as hockey, so they can react at different situations the right way as many times as possible," Blashill said.
