Red Wings stress professional approach over final weeks of season

GLENDALE, Ariz. - It is only a matter of time before the Detroit Red Wings are officially eliminated from playoff contention, snapping a 25-season streak that began in 1991.

It is new territory for Henrik Zetterberg and most of the players, who don't know what it's like to not take part in the postseason.

Their final 14 games, including Thursday in Arizona, will only determine their chances of landing the top overall pick in the June entry draft.

Following Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Colorado, Zetterberg talked about the professional approach players must display during the final 31/2 weeks.
