Detroit — The Red Wings have their veteran defensemen.
Acting fast on the first day of free agency, the Red Wings signed Trevor Daley to a three -year contract worth $9.534 million ($3.178 per year average) and Holland native Luke Witkowski to a two-year deal worth $1.5 million.
“As we headed into free agency certainly one of the areas we really wanted to address was our blue line,” general manager Ken Holland said. “We’re adding two guys, two real character people to our lineup, two guys who’ll be great additions on and off the ice.
