BOSTON - The Detroit Red Wings have recalled goaltender Jimmy Howard from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Howard was with the Griffins for a second rehab stint after spraining his his knee Dec. 20 in Tampa.
He made two appearances for the Griffins in early February but left the second game midway through the third period after tweaking his knee.
