Red Wings ready for Panthers, but Green (groin) ailing

Pavel Datsyuk smiled when told that he and Henrik Zetterberg will play together for the foreseeable future.

"It's like holiday," he said this morning at Joe Louis Arena, as the Detroit Red Wings prepared for their game against the Florida Panthers (7:30 tonight, FS-Plus).

The Wings will be without defenseman Mike Green because "he tweaked his groin a little bit in the game the other day," coach Jeff Blashill said. "It's day-to-day right now."

As former Wings coach Mike Babcock often said, day-to-day for groin injuries generally means 10 days to two weeks. For tonight, Jakub Kindl will take Green's spot.
