DETROIT - For the Detroit Red Wings to achieve their goal of being a harder team to play against, they need to get their noses dirty around the net.
"Right now, we're playing a little too soft on the outside and it's too easy for their Ds to box us out and keep us away from there," Frans Nielsen said. "We got to fight to get in there and we got to be more desperate around the net and get there."
Lack of net presence is one reason the Red Wings have scored only nine goals and remain winless (0-2-2).
