Ahead of the start to the 2020-2021 regular season, NHL teams made a slew of waiver moves, Red Wings included. Detroit has placed a handful of players on waivers, including 2015 1st round pick Evgeny Svechnikov:

Svechnikov has been grappling with injuries, so not exactly surprising that he is unexpected to make the opening night roster, though it’s a bummer that he won’t get to face his brother Andrei.
