Red Wings News Roundup: Wings breeze past Canucks, Yzerplan optimism, John Leonard taking advantage of opportunity

The Detroit Red Wings are coming into their own. How do we know this? They skated out and made quick work of a much weaker opponent on Thursday night. When you know you're the better team, take a 3-1 lead by the end of the second period, and leave no chance for a comeback, you've moved up a rung.

While the Wings still had trouble getting shots off, landing just 25 of them, they nonetheless ended up with five goals. That's 10 goals over the past two games, despite logging just 46 shots on net. It at least means they're taking the right shots, even if they aren't taking enough of them.
