Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg apparently doesn't need to undergo a physical to know what has been apparent for months - his ailing back will prevent him from starting the season, likely from ever playing again.
Zetterberg, in an interview with Sweden's Aftonbladet, confirmed that he will miss training camp, which begins Sept. 14, and the start of the season.
If Zetterberg isn't ready for the start of the season, after not being able to train all summer, he's not likely to play in 2018-19. Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill confirmed as much on Sunday.
