After failing to make the playoffs in the 2016-17 season, the Red Wings appear to be longshots for the 2017-18 season, at least according to Vegas. The odds for the upcoming season were released, with the Pittsburgh Penguins being the favorites to win it all once again at 8-1 odds.
Three other teams that have high odds to win the Cup next season include the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, and Washington Capitals. All three are at 10-1 odds.
The Chicago Blackhawks entered this past season as the favorites to win the Cup but faltered with a first-round loss to the Nashville Predators.
