Boston – After playing one of the worst first periods in their recent history, the Red Wings did not do much to improve their performance throughout the game Wednesday, bowing to the Bruins, 6-1.
The Wings’ defense, a sore point for at least two seasons, now, was awful. Bruins defenders were repeatedly through and behind them, eventually scoring three goals on the first eight shots.
They were all easy tallies.
For once, the Red Wings actually got off to a decent start, showing plenty of “jump” after playing Tuesday night in Toronto and traveling.
They were outshooting the Bruins 7-3.
