Red Wings' future looks bigger with Tomas Nosek, Evgeny Svechnikov

The sample size is small, very small in one case, but brief impressions have been favorable.

Tomas Nosek and Evgeny Svechnikov have shown off their respective skill sets during stints with the Detroit Red Wings as they wrap up their season. As the Wings close out Joe Louis Arena by hosting Montreal Saturday and New Jersey Sunday, Nosek and Svechnikov give reason to be excited about the Wings’ future.

Nosek, 24, could be on the team that next season moves into Little Caesars Arena, because he uses his big body to drive to the net and he asserts himself in puck battles.
