As expected, the Detroit Red Wings are set to announce a contract extension for coach Jeff Blashill, as early as Tuesday.
The Red Wings, who have won six of seven, will be in the NHL draft lottery for the third straight season, as they rebuild following 25 consecutive playoff appearances.
The news, reported by the Free Press on Saturday afternoon, was not taken kindly by some on Twitter.
