The on-ice activity ultimately is among the least important facets of development camp.
Around 45 players are expected to be a part of the Detroit Red Wings’ annual orientation event, which runs Friday through Tuesday at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City. Participants slated to appear in practices and a scrimmage (both open to the public) include all 11 selections from this year’s draft, along with numerous recent draft picks and a number of invitees. In all, 21 forwards, 18 defensemen and six goaltenders will be split into teams Zetterberg and Kronwall.
