DETROIT - After a horrendous start to the season, the Detroit Red Wings have accomplished something they did only twice in 2017-18 - string together three consecutive victories.
Justin Abdelkader snapped a tie with a shorthanded goal in the third period Thursday and the Red Wings came back to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 at Little Caesars Arena.
It was the start of a four-game homestand for the Red Wings (4-7-2) and the second stop of a six-game trip for the Devils (5-4-1).
Jimmy Howard made 25 saves for Detroit.
Abdelkader snapped a 2-2 tie at 12:50 of the third.
