The Red Wings announced today they have assigned Joe Veleno back to juniors so he can start his season and continue to develop on the great promise he showed in training camp and preseason for the Red Wings. Here’s the team’s release:
DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today assigned center Joe Veleno to the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Red Wings currently have 60 players on their preseason roster: 35 forwards, 19 defensemen and six goaltenders. Detroit has four preseason games remaining, including back-to-back road games on Tuesday (at Chicago) and Wednesday (at Boston).
