Andreas Athanasiou can change a game with his speed and sounds determined to do so as often as possible next season.
The Red Wings forward wrapped up his second NHL season with 18 goals, with his last two goals among the three game-winning ones he contributed. His ability to accelerate combined with an ability to finish chances makes him entertaining to watch when he gets a breakaway, and especially during 3-on-3 overtime.
Speaking to the media as the Wings gathered for a team picture at Joe Louis Arena last week, Athanasiou spoke about what he took away from this season and his goals for 2017-18.
