Hirose’s first NHL goal came 19 days after the Red Wings signed him as a free agent out of Michigan State. During that time, the 5-10, 160-pound winger has made a significant impact with six points in seven games in a seamless transition.
It looks like the Red Wings may have found themselves an NHL player. Taro Hirose has fit right in and quickly adjusted to pro hockey. You never know with Ken Holland, but based on Hirose’s play, I’d say he has made a real strong case to stay in Detroit and be on the opening night roster next fall.
