Coach Jeff Blashill said defenseman Trevor Daley (foot) is expected to be available against the Predators. If so, it might cost rookie Dennis Cholowski a spot in the lineup, as he had a rough outing at Chicago. Forward Tyler Bertuzzi (head/neck) practiced for the first time since getting hurt Jan. 22 at Edmonton, but he isn’t expected back before the weekend.
I don’t like the idea of Cholowski not playing. I’d rather the Red Wings sit literally any other defenseman. I do like the idea that Bertuzzi might be ready this weekend.
