Dennis Cholowski, the Detroit Red Wings first-round draft pick from 2016, isn’t sure which league he will be playing in next season as he continues his journey to the NHL. It is worth noting that the Prince George Cougars of the WHL currently hold his contract rights.
"Right now, I don't know where I'll be next year," he said. "I'm just going to do my best to make whatever team I can. Whether it's Detroit, Grand Rapids or the WHL, I'll play where they want me to play."
NHL Network released their list of the 40 breakout players from the 2016-17 NHL season and unfortunately there were no Red Wings’ players on their list.
