The juxtaposition that has taken place in the fortunes of the Detroit Red Wings was in evidence Thursday at Little Caesars Arena.
The team at the opposite end of the ice — the Vegas Golden Knights, a squad that didn’t even exist at this point two years ago — is the defending Stanley Cup finalist. As the Feb. 25 NHL trade deadline fast approaches, they are a team in the market for talent to make another run at Lord Stanley’s mug.
The Wings are also in the market — the futures market.
