One Line Impressed Jeff Blashill Last Night

Michael Rasmussen had the puck on his stick near the net and fired one shot, grabbed his rebound and fired another. A few seconds later, Rasmussen collected his second career NHL assist.

A month into his rookie season, Rasmussen is making a case for a bigger role with the Detroit Red Wings. He played a season high 17:31 minutes in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at Little Caesars Arena, and extended his point streak to three games.

“I think he’s getting better and better every game,” defenseman Niklas Kronwall said.
