The lists of winners and losers from NHL free agency have been assembled, and the Detroit Red Wings, for the most part, are nowhere to be found.
That could be good or bad, depending on how you view it.
The Red Wings addressed two needs - signing mobile, puck-moving defenseman Trevor Daley to a three-year, $9.5 million contract and rugged right wing/defenseman Luke Witkowski to a two-year, $1.5 million deal.
The market was thin and Detroit's salary-cap space limited.
Those who believe the Red Wings should provide better opportunities for young players like defensemen Nick Jensen, Xavier Ouellet and Ryan Sproul and forward prospects Tyler Bertuzzi and Evgeny Svechnikov probably don't like the moves.
