At last the reveal is here: the NHL will hold its draft lottery to determine which teams will make the first three picks in June’s entry draft.
The Detroit Red Wings enter tonight’s event with 9.5% odds of winning the first overall pick and 28.8% odds of selecting in the top three. The results will be announced during an hour-long show beginning 8 p.m. on NBCSN.
There is a separate lottery for each of the first three picks, with different odds for the 15 non-playoff teams (or a playoff-bound team in the case of a trade) based on the final NHL standings.
