DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today assigned forwards Ryan Kuffner, David Pope, Givani Smith, Evgeny Svechnikov, Joe Veleno and Filip Zadina and defensemen Oliwer Kaski, Gustav Lindstrom and Vili Saarijarvi to the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, the Red Wings released forwards Jarid Lukosevicius, Gregor MacLeod and Dominik Shine from their tryouts.
The Red Wings currently have 36 players on their preseason roster: 19 forwards, 13 defensemen and four goaltenders. Detroit will wrap up its nine-game preseason slate with the second half of a home-and-home set against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at 7:00 p.
