Mike Green out 3-5 weeks, Red Wings recall Filip Hronek from Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The Red Wings have recalled defenseman Filip Hronek from the Grand Rapids Griffins, head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed Friday morning.

The move comes after the team found out that veteran defenseman Mike Green would be sidelined for three to five weeks with an injury. According to the team, Green sustained a lower-body injury.

Hronek, a former 2nd round pick in the 2016 Draft, has flourished in the AHL this season, netting five goals, and 18 assists. The shifty rearguard previously saw six games in the NHL, where he had three goals.
