The Team Canada invites for the upcoming World Junior Championships camp were released today, and two Red Wings prospects are on the list.
Joe Veleno and Jared McIsaac join a group of top young prospects who will be competing for 23 roster spots for the upcoming tournament. Veleno is currently tearing up the Q, and McIsaac seems to have a good chance as well to make the final roster.
Michael Rasmussen’s name is not on the list, reportedly because Detroit does not want to loan him out for a month.
Alexis Lafreniere, the current favorite for the first overall pick in the 2020 draft, is among those invited.
