TRAVERSE CITY - The Detroit Red Wings filled two needs when they signed Trevor Daley and Luke Witkowski as free agents, according to coach Jeff Blashill.
Daley signed a three-year contract worth $9.5 million after helping the Pittsburgh Penguins win back-to-back Stanley Cups.
Blashill sees him playing a vital role on the Red Wings defensive corps next season as one of their top blue liners, helping them move the puck up the ice more efficiently.
