DETROIT - Jacob de la Rose appears to be a good find for the Detroit Red Wings, who claimed him off waivers less than three weeks ago.
He scored his first goal on Saturday and his line was by far the most effective for the team, controlling the puck in the offensive zone and generating chances.
But on nights when Connor McDavid, arguably the best player in the world, is the best player on the ice, the Edmonton Oilers are tough to beat.
McDavid made terrific plays to set up a pair of goals and the Oilers dominated territorially, defeating the Red Wings 4-3 at Little Caesars Arena to snap Detroit's three-game winning streak.
