Steve Yzerman should call whoever he's already hired to coach the Wings next year and let him know Dylan Larkin is going to be the next captain of the Detroit Red Wings.
Larkin is playing like Yzerman expects a Red Wing to play, especially a leader. He's captain material, probably now.
And if the Wings are going to continue to move toward excluding themselves from the Hughes sweepstakes, he needs to continue. Not just with points but with energy and grit. I'm guessing that probably started since the night he decided fighting wasn't his thing. I think that embarrassed him and motivated him.
