How Detroit Red Wings fared in quarterfinals at World Championship

Detroit Red Wings forwards Dylan Larkin nor Anthony Mantha both were unavailable to help their respective teams Thursday at the World Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Mantha, at least, will have another shot.

Larkin missed the U.S.’ 4-3 quarterfinal loss to Russia after taking a puck to the groin Tuesday, but at least some good news emerged from the camp as coach Jeff Blashill told the Free Press that Larkin “will be fine.”

It looked gruesome when it happened: Canadian defenseman Philippe Myers ripped a slap shot from the right point and the puck felled Larkin, sending him rushing to the bench in obvious pain.
