Grand Rapids Griffins Win Calder Cup

For the second time in five years, the Griffins hoisted the Calder Cup. It was not any easy Game Six but the Detroit Red Wings American Hockey League affiliate came from behind to defeat the Crunch.

After two periods, the Crunch led 3-2 as they looked determined to send the series to Game Seven. However, the Griffins would score two unanswered goals in the third period to win the game and series.

Martin Frk scored what proved to be the winning goal with seven minutes remaining. Tyler Bertuzzi had scored earlier in the final period to tie the game at 3-3.
