— The season isn’t over for several Red Wings players.
The NHL season for them concluded Sunday, but forwards Matt Lorito, Tomas Nosek and Ben Street, and defenseman Robbie Russo are headed to Grand Rapids.
The Griffins begin the American League playoffs later this month.
Lorito and Street are tied for the Grand Rapids team lead with 54 points, so the two are likely to inject offense into a Griffins lineup that has struggled in recent weeks (Grand Rapids has lost six of seven games and fallen out of the Central Division lead).
Lorito had one point in two games with the Red Wings, while Street had one point in six games.
