Former Red Wing Drew Miller gets tryout from Blackhawks

Drew Miller, who played eight seasons for the Detroit Red Wings, is attending Chicago Blackhawks training camp in a tryout.

According to a camp roster released by the Blackhawks, Miller will join forward John Mitchell and defensemen Cody Franson and Mark Stuart on PTOs.

Miller, 33, appeared in 57 games for Detroit in 2016-17 (five goals, two assists, 18 penalty minutes, minus-12). He played seven games for the Grand Rapids Griffins (two goals, one assist, plus-2).

The Red Wings opted not to re-sign him.

Miller appeared in 504 games with Detroit, picking up 56 goals and 107 points and posting a minus-30 rating.
