For Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg, burning desire to be great trumps age

DETROIT - Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall have logged a lot of hard miles during their careers and often joke about how difficult it is just getting from the dressing room to the ice.

"It doesn't get easier the older you get," Zetterberg said. "Especially when we see all the young guys here coming in fresh as a daisy every morning."

Zetterberg has shown this season that age is only a number. It certainly isn't indicative of his play. The oldest Detroit Red Wing has been the best player on the team. Few could have expected that, given his age (36), wear and tear over the years and the anticipation of a reduced role at a different position.
