On Tuesday morning the Blackhawks shocked the hockey world by giving longtime head coach Joel Quenneville an unceremonious axing after a five-game losing streak that saw the team slip to 6-6-3. The man who brought three Stanley Cup parades to Chicago since 2010 wasn’t solely responsible for the problems that ail Chicago, but will be the first piece shed as the Hawks try to tweak their identity and return to relevance.
As a solid bench boss with a winning pedigree as recent as it is impressive, coach Q won’t be out of work for long.
