- Nyquist, 29, is in the last year of a contract with a $4.75 million salary cap hit. The Wings were interested in re-signing Nyquist, but balked at his asking price of five years at $5.5 million per. He’ll get that from someone if he hits the open market. If the Wings don’t see him as part of their future, the sensible move is to trade him. At last year’s trade deadline, Tatar had 16 goals and 12 assists in 62 games and yielded a 2018 first-round pick, 2019 second-round pick and 2021 third-round pick from Vegas.
