Detroit’s Power Play Has Been Bad Lately

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,

The Detroit Red Wings have seen this scenario play out too many times, this season and the past two years.

They played well enough to win at home against a superior opponent but found a way to lose. A power-play goal could have made the difference, but their man-advantage failed them once again.

The Red Wings failed to score on three power-play opportunities Sunday, losing 3-2 to the reigning Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals 3-2 at Little Caesars Arena.

The Red Wings are below average on the power play (17 percent, 21st in the NHL).
