The Detroit Red Wings will face two of the top teams in the NHL without one of their core players.

The NHL department of player safety handed down a two-game suspension for Tyler Bertuzzi as a result of his conduct in Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Colorado. That will cover Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Little Caesars Arena and Thursday’s game at Toronto.

On Sunday, Wings defenseman Mike Green hit Colorado defenseman Matt Calvert, sending him up against the Wings’ bench.
