Detroit Red Wings' Tyler Bertuzzi faces disciplinary hearing for punch

Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi has a way of aggravating opponents. Now that could cost him.

The NHL’s department of player safety announced Monday that Bertuzzi will have a hearing for roughing/unsportsmanlike conduct on Colorado’s Matt Calvert during Sunday’s game at Little Caesars Arena.

Wings defenseman Mike Green hit Calvert, sending him up against the Wings’ bench. Dylan Larkin appeared to hold down Calvert, and Bertuzzi punched him. There was no penalty on the play.

Bertuzzi could be fined, or face a maximum five-game suspension (if the league is considering suspending a player for six games or more, the offending player is offered an in-person hearing).
