The Detroit Red Wings assigned several prospects to their minor league system Saturday.
First-round picks Filip Zadina, Joe Veleno and Evgeny Svechnikov were assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins, along with forwards Ryan Kuffner, David Pope and Givani Smith and defensemen Oliwer Kaski, Gustav Lindstrom and Vili Saarijarvi.
Veleno, drafted 30th overall in 2018, had three assists in six exhibition games.
